Explore Matsu
The Matsu Islands are located in the northwest of Taiwan, facing the estuaries of the Min River, the Lianjiang River, and the Luoyuan Bay. The nearest point to mainland China is about 9.25 kilometers away. It consists mainly of 36 islands and islets, including Nangan Island, Beigan Island, Dongju Island, Xiju Island, Dongyin Island, and Xiyin Island, with a total area of 29.6 square kilometers. The population is over 13,000 residents.
